About Aqueous Dispersions

Aqueous Dispersion is a professional artist’s pigment that requires some preparation before using; care has to be taken during the process of mixing to avoid complications during painting. Chalking, crazing and plasticising are common faults, if the correct ratio of compounds is not followed. Once mixing is complete, pots must stand for 24 hours to enable chemical reaction to take place.

Aqueous Dispersion can be described as being similar to water colour when brushing, and the colour intensity as well as performance of acrylic. The raw media is mixed with copolymer emulsion to enable drying, which is very fast. It can be mixed with water and other compounds to achieve various finishes. There is a very good range of colours available to the artist. However they are not found on high street shelves but ordered direct from the manufacturer via good art material dealers.
